James T. Cook, Designer Goldsmith

 James is a second-generation goldsmith, who started his love of making jewelry at a very young age watching his father create one-of-a-kind, hand-carved wax models in his studio in Amherst, NH. After working and mentoring with his father for over 14 years, James and his wife, Sarah, decided to open Tates Gallery in New Boston, NH in October 2006. In 2021 & 2022 their two sons, Griffin and Brenden joined the business. Griffin has been working on CAD Designs and Brenden has been working as a bench jeweler. It is a True Family Affair!

Sarah continues to run the day to day operations  while also assisting customers find the finest diamonds and colored gemstones the world has to offer. James works with each customer, personally, designing each piece of jewelry and then making each one by hand in his workshop (casting and setting each stone). We work in 14/18k yellow and white, Platinum and Sterling Silver. Tates Gallery also carries American-made and local artists, featuring fun jewelry, pottery, wood, hand-blown glass, metal sculptures, paintings and prints. We are known as "the hidden gem in the woods". Come out and see us!
